GENESIS: The General Earth Science Investigation Suite
نویسندگان
چکیده
GENESIS is a NASA-sponsored partnership between the Jet Propulsion Laboratory, academia, and three NASA data centers to develop a new suite of web services tools to facilitate multi-sensor investigations in Earth System Science. Residing within a framework known as SciFlo, these tools will offer versatile operators for data access, subsetting, registration, fusion, compression, and advanced statistical analysis. They will first be deployed in a model server at JPL, and later released as an open-source toolkit to encourage enhancement by independent developers. While the initial work will focus on four premier atmospheric sensors – AIRS, MODIS, MISR, and GPS – the modular design offers ready extension and reuse on many Earth science data sets. The SciFlo design grew out of the pressing needs of scientists active in studies with these new sensors. The tools themselves will be co-developed by atmospheric scientists and information technologists from several institutions. At each step the tools will be tested under fire within active investigations, including cross-comparison of spaceborne climate sensors; cloud spectral analysis; upper tropospherestratosphere water transport; and global climate model testing. The tools will then be evaluated by our partner data centers and later infused into their operations.

The Cenozoic volcanic activity of the Harrat Ash Sham volcanic field in south of Syria is a part of the extensive magmatism that took place in the auxiliary extension faults along the Dead Sea Fault Zone from upper Eocene to Holocene. Pliocene volcanic rocks form an important part of igneous succession in Syrian Part of Harrat as Sham. These rocks vary from basalts flows to scoria. Pliocene bas...

Moshirabad granitoid body is located, as part of intrusive bodies, in Sanandaj-Sirjans zone and crops out elongated with east-west trend. Based on field observation as well as mineralogical characteristics, this suite consists of three main units; diorites, granodiorites and granites, followed by minor gabbros. Mineralogical and geochemical studies show that rocks of this suite are I-type, calc...
متن کاملInvestigation of geometric parameters of seawalls on the amount of earth subsidence and its horizontal displacement by FLAC 3D software
Seawalls are built for Protecting of beaches against waves and preventing the progression of water to the beach. For a proper understanding about these constructions, a suiTable information about applied loads on these constructions should be existed. One of the important load that applied on these constructions is sea wave. Others loads are included: weight force of the walls, weight force of ...

The Chah-Shur clay deposit is located in150 km southeast of Isfahan. Eocene igneous rocks and Quaternary deposits cover the area. Eocene volcanic rocks include andesite and tuffs which relating to magmatic activities of Urumieh-Dokhtar magmatic belt. Alteration of the vitric and lithic tuff units has produced the clay deposit. Based on the petrographic studies, the main minerals in tuff uni...
